Customised Photographer Portfolio for Ipad

Ever since I bought an I-Pad mini a couple of months ago, it has been a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it is unbelievably handy to have and I carry it in my small backpack everywhere I go. I use it for location scouting to take photos when I do not want to lug around my big DSLR. I also utilize Evernote on my IPAD to collect notes, inspiration and research which I can then sync back to my MAC at home. On the other hand, when I am on my bed, I find it hard to not open it up to play a quick game, check up on my email or SNS  which causes me to have sleepless nights. :) It isn't a bad problem to have since it comes in handy most of the times.

I also started using a surprisingly affordable app called FOLIOBOOK which I think every photographer should have and at US $12.99, you really can't go wrong. It has a fully-customisable menu and interface where you can upload your own logo, create your own menus and obviously upload your photos to showoff to others. The interface is functional and user-friendly though I think could be made ever more simple and  efficient.

Today I made a presentation to a potential client and fashion magazine and it felt great not having to carry my massive portfolio with me. Prints are damn expensive too and I think more and more it is becoming more acceptable to use an IPAD for portfolio presentations. Obviously some traditionalists and big commercial clients would still prefer something more tactile. I also use Foliobook on shoot day where I can make a special folder just for the day to show my team my moodboard, poses and inspirations. It is truly a handy tool which a photographer should not leave home without. A big thumbs up!
